The saga continues...

Twenty minutes later the convoy reached sector Bravo in Virginia. They stopped at an old rest stop along the highway and pulled in. They were lucky not to get ambushed on the way there. There were no scout in the area and they were driving blind. Kay pulled the SUV into the parking lot right next to the infantry APC. The backdoor to the armored vehicle lowered and infantry men poured out, one by one. Their blue and red armor was massive. They were covered head to toe in a special combat armor the Army was developing before the war broke out. The eggheads took this armor, recreated it and spliced Zenos technology into it. All the special ops squads also had special armor, it was all black but lighter and their hands and face were not covered. The infantry squad leader walked over to them, took off his helmet and laid his battle rile on the hood of the SUV. The ground rumbled as the tanks passed behind them and the rest of the vehicles parked in one long neat row. Resistance members started to pour out of them, checking ammo and getting weapons out of the trunks. Eric, the infantry squad leader ran his fingers through his hair and looked at his surroundings. “Section 8 should he here in about ten minutes, my men will set up in the middle and on the sides of the road.” Eric pointed to where the anti tank weapons and the machine guns will be set up. “There’s not a lot of cover but we have been through worse, we just have to hit them before they realize what’s going on” Jessica nodded and agreed with the plan. The tanks started to pull out the parking lot and took up positions in the woods surrounding the rest stop. The infantry started to set up and the heavy weapons crew was doing their thing as well. Their job was to inflict as much damage to the nightmare machine as possible. One of the monstrosities was taken down by hitting it in the legs. Reports say that the machine actually moaned as it was hit and a substance that looked like blood came out of it. Rumors say that this thing is actually alive, but they were never confirmed. Jessica instructed Kevin, the only male on the team, to offload the weapons and drive the truck into the middle of the street. She wanted to meet those bastards head on when they arrived. She wanted Kevin on the rear machine gun, Angela on the top mounted weapon while she, Kay and Jamie would be on the ground with the pulse cannon. “Looks like it’s going to rain” said Jessica as she looked up at the sky. Jamie responded the day keeps on getting better.

Another chapter in the Gatecrasher Saga

Jessica was about to close her eyes when the radio next to her buzzed to life. The former cheerleader and honor student sat up and grabbed it quickly. “Wildcat actual, we need you team ready to go in five minutes, section 8 needs back up, now”. “Roger command, we’ll be in the motor pool in four”. Jessica sprung up, sprinted to her locker and nudged the other bed on her way there. Kay stirred, rolled over and fell out of her bed. She picked herself up and saw the urgency in Jessica’s movements. She rushed to her own locker and started to put on her all black combat gear. Jessica was on her radio alerting the rest of the team. Jessica then turned to her and told her Section 8 was in trouble and they had to book it to the motor pool. In less than 30 seconds both were clad in their special ops gear and running out the door. They met Jamie and Angela at the stairwell and proceeded to run down to the motor pool. Where’s Kevin someone asked and Kay responded that he is getting the SUV ready. As the four of them rushed into the motor pool, Commander Booker was sitting there next to their vehicle, ready to give them a hasty mission briefing. They were to convoy with elements of the 3rd platoon tank squad, 4th platoon heavy weapons squad and 1st platoon infantry, head up to sector bravo in Virginia. They were to set up a hasty defense and wait for section 8 to arrive. Their main priority was to get the captured truck back to base and in the hands of the eggheads. There are undetermined amounts of enemy but the biggest problem is the nightmare machine section 8 has to outrun. Only one of those bad boys has been destroyed before and we lost five squads doing it. Wildcat squad acknowledged the order and climbed into their vehicle. The ground crew in the motor pool escorted them out of the structure and they waited for the rest of the convoy. Moments later three tanks, and several sedans and SUV’s showed up. The infantry vehicles took the lead, followed by section 6, with the tanks and the heavy weapon squads mixed in to complete the convoy. It was about a 20 minute drive with about 5-10 minutes to set up before section 9 hopefully makes it in one piece. Jessica chattered on the radio with the rest of the vehicles, setting up the plan for a hasty defense. There would be snipers in the buildings, tanks in the cover waiting to ambush, the heavy weapons squad lying in wait to hopefully take out the nightmare machine with the pulse cannon, the rail gun and the recoilless rifle they had. Wildcat squad the rest of the infantry would be at the front line, taking the blow of the Zenos attack. Minutes later Jessica put down the radio, checked her rifle and took the side mounted machine gun and watched the scenery go by, not saying a word.

Saga coninued

The squad leader for special ops unit section 6 laid in her bed, staring at the ceiling. Her roommate was fast asleep across the room in the fetal position, holding on a tattered teddy bear for dear life. Jessica looked around her room, which used to a book store. The main resistance base where our heroes are stationed was actually once a mall. During the attack, the Zenos only took out communications and military posts. People assumed that they would destroy everything, but why would they? They came to this planet to conquer and inhabit it. Why destroy everything and be forced to rebuild? Despite several bombed out buildings and various destroyed structures, all lot of things were kept intact. The resistance base is located in a newly built three story mega mall. It has a full food court, around a hundred stores and a 32 screen movie theater. The Army base is located in a strip mall on the right side of the mall, while the armor and weapons factory is located in an old mega electronics superstore behind the mall. Now the genius part is what the resistance did for combat vehicles. They took regular civilian cars, trucks and suv’s and added armor and mounted weapons on them. Regular four door sedans, trucks and suv’s were used for escorts, combat patrols and other uses. Two door sport cars were used for scout and recon missions. Half of the movie theater and the parking garage next to the mall were converted into the motor pool, which also housed several regular armored vehicles like tanks and armored personal carriers. There was also a section where the limited number of aircraft was kept. There were a handful of attack and transport helicopters as well as a couple of new aircraft developed by the Army engineers. Attached to the garage was a fire base where the artillery pieces were kept. This was reported to be the most solid base the resistance had and if this base fell, all the northern states would fall with it.

GateCrasher Saga Continued

Special Ops squad Section 8 was about to encounter one of the deadliest Zeno convoys ever seen and all Marcus could do is tap a particular pocket on his flak vest. Inside this pocket contained the picture of his missing girlfriend. It’s been a long time but he still harbored the notion that she was still alive. There have been rumors that the Zenos kept farms around the state, harvesting humans and doing experiments on them. There were also nastier rumors that the Zenos had control of the prison and the inmates, turning them into soldiers to fight against their own. Marcus picked up his binoculars and looked at the incoming convoy. The truck was the key to this mission’s success. There was no way one squad, even his squad, could take on this many troops. He looked at Cameron for a second and it hit him. “Hijack, I am going to hijack that truck during the confusion”. “Wade will take out the front vehicle and the vehicle directly behind the truck”. “Soccer mom will cover my while you and Maria unload everything you have on the back vehicles”. “I am going to run up to the truck, take out the hopefully confused driver and get it the hell out of here”. By that time, I want everyone to pack up and follow me to sector B, where hopefully there will be reinforcements there to help us out”. Cameron nodded and relayed the information over the radio to the rest of the teammates while Marcus readied his rifle. “Do you even know how to drive one of those things?” Marcus turned to her “how hard can it be?”
