The saga continues...

Twenty minutes later the convoy reached sector Bravo in Virginia. They stopped at an old rest stop along the highway and pulled in. They were lucky not to get ambushed on the way there. There were no scout in the area and they were driving blind. Kay pulled the SUV into the parking lot right next to the infantry APC. The backdoor to the armored vehicle lowered and infantry men poured out, one by one. Their blue and red armor was massive. They were covered head to toe in a special combat armor the Army was developing before the war broke out. The eggheads took this armor, recreated it and spliced Zenos technology into it. All the special ops squads also had special armor, it was all black but lighter and their hands and face were not covered. The infantry squad leader walked over to them, took off his helmet and laid his battle rile on the hood of the SUV. The ground rumbled as the tanks passed behind them and the rest of the vehicles parked in one long neat row. Resistance members started to pour out of them, checking ammo and getting weapons out of the trunks. Eric, the infantry squad leader ran his fingers through his hair and looked at his surroundings. “Section 8 should he here in about ten minutes, my men will set up in the middle and on the sides of the road.” Eric pointed to where the anti tank weapons and the machine guns will be set up. “There’s not a lot of cover but we have been through worse, we just have to hit them before they realize what’s going on” Jessica nodded and agreed with the plan. The tanks started to pull out the parking lot and took up positions in the woods surrounding the rest stop. The infantry started to set up and the heavy weapons crew was doing their thing as well. Their job was to inflict as much damage to the nightmare machine as possible. One of the monstrosities was taken down by hitting it in the legs. Reports say that the machine actually moaned as it was hit and a substance that looked like blood came out of it. Rumors say that this thing is actually alive, but they were never confirmed. Jessica instructed Kevin, the only male on the team, to offload the weapons and drive the truck into the middle of the street. She wanted to meet those bastards head on when they arrived. She wanted Kevin on the rear machine gun, Angela on the top mounted weapon while she, Kay and Jamie would be on the ground with the pulse cannon. “Looks like it’s going to rain” said Jessica as she looked up at the sky. Jamie responded the day keeps on getting better.
